Thatcher, AZ—THATCHER, AZ—EAC’s Business Department will be offering four, eight-week business courses which start in October. Each of these classes are three credit hours and can be entered without any prerequisites.
Scheduling and Cost Estimating (BUA151, Section #6053), taught by Dana Barnett, is completely online and was designed to teach various types of scheduling and estimating methods while incorporating these concepts into the completion of a successful construction, business, or technological project. The class runs from October 9 to December 14.
Business Communications (BUA259, Section #6000), taught by Derek Rich, will also meet online, from October 9 to December 14. This course covers the study of oral and written communications in the occupational setting.
Each of these classes are three credit hours and can be entered without any prerequisites.
Financial Management (SBM211, Section #6019), taught by Mike Fox, will meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11-11:50 a.m. beginning October 16. Current or future business owners, managers, and employees will benefit from this class as it discusses a better understanding and managing of the finances of a business. The class will emphasize using financial information to make informed business management decisions.
“It was suggested to the EAC business advisory committee that students would be more interested in taking the courses if they were shorter than the regular, full-length semester classes,” said EAC business division chair, Mike Fox. “These eight-week courses will provide an excellent opportunity for local business owners, managers, and employees to participate without having to commit to a traditional sixteen-week class,” He said. “And students will improve their business knowledge and skills for their present and future life.”
