Thatcher, AZ— Eastern Arizona College’s Symphony Orchestra will present Words and Music… The Stories of Egmont, Lieutenat Kijé, and Vodník, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., in the EAC Activities Center – Lee Little Theater. Admission is free.

The Orchestra, under the direction of EAC music instructor, Franklin Alvarez, will perform musical pieces, and with the help of a narrator, tell the stories of three historic characters with: Beethoven’s, Overture To Egmont; Sergei Prokofieff’s, Lieutenant Kije - Suite Symphonique; and Dvorak’s, Vodnik, The Water Goblin.

“We are presenting an educational concert,” says Alvarez. “The music in each of these pieces was written to tell a story. With the help of narrator Ammon Gaytan, we will weave the story with music and the spoken word.”

Admission to this concert is free and the program is appropriate for music lovers of all ages. For more information about this event, contact Alvarez at (928) 428-8266 or by email at Franklin Alvarez.
