THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Dance classes are hosting an Historical Ball on Friday, November 17, 2006, in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center-Main Dining Hall from 7-9 p.m. Admission to the Ball is free.
“The Historical Ball celebrates the 200th anniversary of the return of the Lewis and Clark Expedition from the dangerous, yet thrilling journey of discovery from St. Louis to the mouth of the Columbia River,” said EAC Dance Department Chair Gayla Curtis. “Historical sources tell us that they were feted with balls for weeks after their return.”
There is no charge for the Ball and attendees are invited to dress up in ball gowns, fancy dress, traditional clothing, or shirt and tie. “Dress as you would have, wish you could have, or would like to have,” said Curtis.
Please join us for this wonderful experience that will include a demonstration of the gigue and the minuet. Attendees of the ball are also cordially invited to dance. The event is open and suitable to the entire public.
For more information about the Historical Ball, phone Gayla Curtis at 428-2194.
