Thatcher, AZ—Today?s fast-paced retail environment increasingly requires education in addition to the hard work and dedication of its employees. To help fill this gap, Eastern Arizona College offers a certificate of proficiency program in retail management that can now be accomplished completely online. This 8-course program is designed to prepare current and future retail industry employees to be ready for the management challenges of the future. The curriculum, which includes classes in retail management, marketing, supervision, and human resource management, encompasses several business essentials. It also emphasizes the ?soft skills? of management and communication required for career success. The program is endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC), a grocery trade association representing companies in 14 western states. Eastern?s certificate is designed for grocery store and other retail employees interested in furthering a career in retail management, including small businesses. ?Retail and small business play a vital role in our local economy. This course is designed to stimulate interest in retailing careers in both the retailers, and the firms providing products and services to retailers,? says Mike Fox, EAC business advisor. For more information, please contact Fox at (928) 428-8421. Students can register for classes at 428-8270 or online at www.eac.edu. ###
