Thatcher, AZ—The GED (General Equivalency Degree) Testing Service will release a new version of the GED test on January 1, 2014. Candidates who did not complete the 2002 series of tests will have to start the GED process over again. The cost to take the new test will be approximately $150.
“Local testing for the 2002 paper-pencil GED was completed on December 14, 2013, but there are still options available to finish the GED test elsewhere,” says EAC’s evaluation technician, Jerri Lukens. “The Gila County Education Service Agency in Globe will offer retests-only on December 30 and 31, 2013. Call Chastity Van Buskirk at (928) 402-4339 for more information. You can also call the Arizona Department of Education, Adult Education at (602) 364-3949 for testing dates and times.”
The new 2014 GED test will be offered beginning January 16, 2014, in the Counseling office, at Eastern Arizona College. Individuals who would like to take the test can go to www.ged.com and sign up online, or call 877-392-6433 to register and pay by phone.
