EAC Children’s theater performing Wizard of Oz

Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College Children’s Theatre program is growing so substantially that this semester’s offering of Wizard of Oz will be performed with a double cast. Cast One will take the stage in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center-Lee Little Theatre on December 3 and 6, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.; Cast Two will perform on December 5 at 7:30 p.m. and December 7 at 2 p.m. also in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center-Lee Little Theatre. The actors are all between the ages of four and 10 and have been practicing for weeks. Cast One is starring Amy Gillespie as Dorothy, Mikaela Jorgensen as the Scarecrow, McKay Griffin as the Tin-man, Porter Christensen as the Cowardly Lion, Cooper Udall as the Wizard, Emmy Wilkins as Glenda the Good Witch, Ryan Taylor as Uncle Henry, Bella Dixon as Auntie Em, and Paityn Mattice as the Wicked Witch.
Cast Two stars Kieri Jones as Dorothy, Amanda Chavez as the Scarecrow, Noah Wilson as the Cowardly Lion, Carson Turley as the Wizard, Andra Lines as Glenda the Good Witch, Nathan Skiba as Uncle Henry, Jarelyn McClain as Aunt Em, and Aubree Vecellio as the Wicked Witch.
This play promises to be an evening of fun for the entire family. “This is one of the most fun plays we’ve ever done,” said the director, Penny Whetten. “This is a super-great group of kids with lots of participation.”
