Thatcher, AZ— Eastern Arizona College’s dance classes and the EAC Dance Club, Danseries, are hosting their annual night of dance, “An Evening of Dance, Costumes, and Early Music,” on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 7 p.m., at the EAC Activities Center-South Patio. The event is free to the public.
“The purpose of the evening is two-fold,” explains EAC’s dance instructor, Gayla Curtis. “First of all, to get together and dance the old, familiar dances in costume is something many of us look forward to this time of year. And this year, the club’s Renaissance Dance Troupe will be on hand auditioning dancers to join the troupe, which will perform at the 2014 Renaissance festival in Apache Junction.”
Curtis invites everyone to come to the event where attendees of the ball are cordially invited to participate in the dances or remain part of the audience. “Bring a partner and learn how to dance the dance of the Renaissance,” says Curtis. “The event is open and suitable to the entire public.”
Attire for the evening is dressy or appropriate to the time period. For more information about the event or about the Renaissance Dance Troupe, call Gayla Curtis at (929) 428-2194.
