Music Welcome

The music department is one of EAC’s finest! EAC draws impressively talented students to our instrumental and choral programs. Our singers and musicians perform with passion and precision.

EAC boasts some of the finest musical groups in Arizona, comparable to those at a major university. In fact, we have Arizona’s only community college marching band, and you can march as a freshman! We invite you to come to a concert, meet with our instructors, and hear for yourself why EAC’s Music department is so highly regarded. Music scholarships are available, too! We hope you join us.

- Bruce Bishop, Music Department Chair

Music Student Experience

That's Music to Our Ears

“Many people come to EAC just for the music department. In the choral department, I have experienced excellence. I have been able to explore the passion and diversity that music has to offer, and it has brought me closer to God too. I really appreciate all the time, effort and professionalism that Dr. Bishop shows.”

- Tom Mangum

“The music instruction here is really intense, but it gives us a level of excellence that we couldn’t get anywhere else. You can say so much with music that you can’t say with words. It’s a whole new way to connect with people. It’s loads of fun, I love it!”

- Delsy Shumway

Music Transfer and Careers

A Job in Harmony with Your Talents

You’re given the gift of musical talent. What do you do with it? You can pursue it merely to satisfy your soul and use your gifts, and that’s reason enough.

But in today’s media age, there are more outlets than ever where you can perform. You can perform live with a group, post videos on YouTube or other video sites, create music to be used as the score for movies or commercials, and many other options.

You can also pursue music education, teaching others to bring out the music within them. Whether you want to teach one-on-one to schoolchildren, or direct a college orchestra, an AA degree from EAC is a great place to begin.
