General Information
Who can use
EAC’s Alumni Library
·
EAC students.
·
Graham
County
residents over 16 years old.
·
Residents under 16 years of age must sign up for a card with a
parent present.
·
NAU students who are not
Graham
County
residents can make arrangements to get privileges through the NAU/EAC
librarian.
·
This is a college library. We do not have items appropriate for
children.
Library Hours
The Library’s regular, non-holiday, hours during the
fall and spring semesters are:

Monday – Thursday:
7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
·
Friday:
7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
·
Saturday:
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
·
Sunday:
6 – 10 p.m.
The Library is closed on all College holidays. Hours will vary during
holiday/vacation periods; changes will be posted. During summer the Library is
open Mon. – Thurs. from
7 a.m.
to
7 p.m.
and Fri. from
7 a.m.
to
5 p.m.
Library Rules
·
You must have your EAC library card with you in order to check out
items and/or use the computers.
·
We try to maintain an environment conducive to study and reading.
Children must stay with the adult they came with at all times.
·
No food or tobacco products are allowed in the Library at any
time! Bottles of water with screw-type caps are the only drinks allowed in the
building.

Check Out Privileges–
o
Books/Periodicals: You
may check out up to 15 non-reserve items at a time, but only three nonfiction
books may be checked out from the same Dewey number. Books may be checked out
for two weeks and renewed twice. Periodicals may be checked out for two weeks
with no renewals.
o
Videos: Adults may
check out one videotape for a 24-hour period.
o
Audio Materials: Up to
three CD’s may be checked out for two weeks, with no renewals.

Renewals–You may renew your items before they are overdue via
phone at 428-8304 or online at www.eac.edu/academics/library.
Reserve items
Reserve items are materials which EAC instructors have
set aside for special in-library use and have a shorter check-out time, often as
short as one hour. Reserve items are available at the checkout desk, either in
the Library or the
Media
Center
. Reserve items are not allowed out of the building unless they have at least a
one-day checkout period. You must have a current EAC Library Card with you to
use reserve items.
Fines and lost
items
Fines are charged for overdue materials. If fines (listed below) are paid
when the overdue items are returned, only half the fine will be charged. If you
have overdue materials and/or fines of $5 or more, you will not be allowed to
check out any additional items or use the computers until the problem is
resolved.
Fines–

Books & magazines 5¢ per day, per item
·
Reserve items 50¢ per item per period/day
·
Videotapes 50¢ per item per period/day
·
CD-ROM 50¢ per item per period/day
·
Lost books Cost of the book plus $5 fee
·
Lost magazines $5 each
·
Lost videotapes or CD’s $25 each or actual price if higher
There is also a charge for replacement library cards or
replacement barcodes.
Periodicals
Our collection of periodicals in paper and microfiche
format is housed upstairs and is significantly supplemented by our online
databases of full-text journal and newspaper articles which are available via
the Library web pages.
Library Web Page
The library web page provides access to our online
catalog, online databases containing full-text journal and newspaper articles,
and a variety of other resources. Access to the databases is available
throughout campus; in addition, off-campus access to some databases is limited
to currently enrolled students. For assistance with any library resource or for
off-campus access, please see a library staff member.
