What is a CLEP test?

You may be awarded college credit for satisfactory scores on national standardized examinations listed in the American Council on Education's "A Guide to Educational Credit by Examination, 4th Edition," or its successor. (CLEP) is an example of such an examination. You may be awarded college credit through CLEP if you score 500 or above on each section of the General Examination, or 50 or above on the subject exams. The College's Evaluation Unit administers the CLEP. There is a fee for the CLEP exam. If you intend to transfer to another college or university you are cautioned that policies governing the awarding of CLEP credit vary from institution to institution. In all cases, scores earned for CLEP examinations will have to be submitted separately to each institution at which credit is being sought. More info.
